After the rain

I’ve been a bit of big old crab this past week due to grey skies and rain, but my demeanor changed when we woke up to the most glorious Saturday. Although Gregory nixed my idea to go on a more strenuous hike (we have to save our energy/muscles for Sunday’s long run*), he found an easy 2-mile loop trail at Arroyo Sequit in Malibu and it wound up being the perfect place to leisurely enjoy the post-rain environment. Blue skies, blooming flowers, singing birds and frogs, soil that smelled good enough to eat, a surprise waterfall … and SO MANY MUSHROOMS!
